USB INTERFACE

Press the CD button twice or use the MODE button on your steering wheel to access the USB MP3 player. The LCD will display EX1:1 or CD 1:00 when the USB MP3 player is selected and USB device is attached. If there is no USB device attached or if there are problems reading the USB device, the display will read EX8:88 or CD 06:88. If the proper folder structure (detailed below) is not present, the display may flash “NO DISC”.

If you have a USB storage device attached, the USB MP3 Player will begin to play songs form the designated folders on the device.

Songs must be placed in designated folders on the flash drive. The folders must be named CD01,CD02…up to CD10,though some vehicles, such as Mazda 6 will support up to CD10. When the flash drive is plugged into USB MP3 Player, each of these folders is recognized as “disc” meaning it starts in the CD01 folder, and if you press DISC+/_(some vehicles using numbers 1,2,…1 2), it will change to the other folders. The USB MP3 Player will recognize up to 99 songs for each folder. This allows you to organize your music more easily.

You may change tracks by using the steering wheel control or the seek buttons on the center console.

The timer on the LCD will not be accurate for each song.

The random button can be used to play songs in a random order. If you change tracks while you are in random mode, the next track in the playlist will be selected and the random mode will be canceled. If you are in random mode and you would like to switch to another random song rather than the next song in the playlist, you should press the random button twice.

Fast forward and rewind have no effect.

If you have a cable plugged into the 1/8” stereo plug, the USB MP3 Player will stop playing songs from the USB storage device.

IPOD INTERFACE

Press the CD button twice or use the MODE button on your steering wheel to access the unit. If you have your ipod connected, the LCD will display EX1:66, otherwise it will display EX8:88. If the ipod is not connected, the interface can still be used to input audio from an external device via the 1/8” stereo plug.

While the display reads EX1,you will retain complete functionality of your ipod. Any playlist/album/artist selections should be made using the ipod user interface. Tracks can be changed via the steering wheel controls or the seek buttons on the center console. The fast forward and rewind buttons on the center console can also be used to seek within a single song. The timer on the LCD will not accurately reflect the position with a given song.

Pressing DISC+/DISC_ will put the interface unit in “playlist mode.” Each “disc” references a different playlist. EX2 represents the first playlist on your ipod. EX3 represents the second playlist, and so on and so forth, up to EX10,which represents the ninth playlist.

While in playlsit mode:
The ipod screen will read  “OK to disconnect” and the user interface can not be used. The numbers following EX2, EX3, ect. Represent the track number within that playlist. For example, EX2:57 would mean that it is currently playing the 57th song on the first playlist. If you have many songs on your playlist, the digits following the colon may flash between two different numbers. For example, if the 285th song on the playlist was being played, the digits would flash 2 followed by 85 since there are only two digits available.

The timer on the LCD will not be accurate for each song.
The repeat button can be used to repeat a single song.

Fast forward and rewind can be used to seek within a single song and the LCD timer will be updated to reflect your position within the song.

The random button can be used to play songs in a random order. If you change tracks while you are in random mode, the next track in the playlist will be selected and random mode will be canceled. If you are in random mode and you would like to switch to another random song rather than the next song in the playlist, you should press the random button twice.
